Kenya Botswana Diaspora Last Expense Funeral Cover
It is an insurance cover that is tailor-made for the Kenya Botswana Diaspora Association (KEBODIA) registered Members. The policy is designed to meet the funeral costs in the event of the demise of an insured live. It is an insurance product designed to provide financial assistance and support to members of KEBODIA in the event of a funeral. The policy is an annual cover with renewal terms determined subject to the scheme’s performance.
Scope of the Cover
The Policy provides for the following:
- Benefits ranging from Ksh 300,000 to Ksh. 500,000.
- The annual premium is per principal member.
- Covers the principal, spouse, children, parents/in-laws and siblings from the principal member’s side.
- Offers cover for both accidental and natural causes of death for 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- New /Additional members are to be covered upon declaration and payment of pro rata premiums.
- Waiting Period; 3 months waiting period in case of natural death from the date cover by commencement. No waiting period for accidental death.
- Lump sum benefits payable in the event of the death of the specified family members.
- The cover runs for one year and is renewable annually upon expiry.
- The benefits are paid within 48 hours of notification subject to proof of death.
- Does not cover death arising from active risks of war (whether war be declared or not), civil war, mutiny, riot, insurrection, rebellion, revolution, terrorism or usurped power. Please note that passive war, riot and terrorism are covered.
- Does not cover participation in a criminal act
- Does not cover intentional self-injury, suicide or the influence of alcohol or drugs not prescribed by a registered medical practioner.

Claim Requirements
All death claims will be reported within three (3) from the date of death. Benefits are payable within 48 after receipt of the following documents:
- Certified copy of burial permit for the insured
- Certified copy of the letter of no objection from Embassy for insured members residing in South Sudan
- Certified copy of deceased Members ID/Passport
- CIC Claim Form completed and signed by the Association
- Post Mortem report in case of unnatural dead e.g. accident
